Looking to import transaction details to Sage 50 from an outside program? Need to integrate the two? You would need to be signed up as a development partner with a valid support plan in order to be able to get assistance from the sage 50 CA development team regarding the SDK.
However, the SDK is a FREE download for the US and Canadian versions of Sage 50.

STEP 1: Once on the Developer Application Portal click on the Complete a New Application button.
STEP 2: Complete the entry of your contact information then click Next. If you're not a Sage partner yet, leave the box at the end of the form unchecked.
STEP 3: On the next page, enter your Development History. This involves choosing (from a dropdown list) the Sage product for which you would like to develop, as well as, years of experience as a developer, and details on what platforms you use to develop integrations, previous experience and a listing of any certified solutions or other applications that you've developed in the past to integrate with Sage products.
Once done click Next.
STEP 4: Tell us more about your company, including: total number of employees, total number of R&D employees and total number of customer services employees. Once entered, click Next.
STEP 5: Provide two references in each of the sections for business references and customer references.
After this step you're done! Our team will review your application and be in contact regarding next steps.
You'll receive an email with the details that "we will notify you about whether it has been approved or denied. If approved, Sage will contact you regarding applicable program fees and to discuss next steps.

The Canadian software was based on Simply Accounting
The U.S. software was based on Peachtree
The U.K. software was based on Sage Line 50
The innards of the three products have little in common because they were built by separate companies. Similarities are more evolutionary convergence than shared ancestor.
Thank you - unfortunately this has a VERY high price tag and no information at all without registering... All I want is to build an addon for internal use here to link one system to another.
The Sage 50 Canadian software has had a free SDK for some years, basic import functionality built in, and a read / write ODBC interface.
Except for a few moderators from Sage Software, this forum is composed of Canadian users of Sage 50, so any knowledge. (I have never worked for Sage.) and I have no more personal knowledge of the U.K. software than I have of the traffic on the M1
I have had good success shovelling data into other closed software by using AutoHotKey, sending generated keystrokes and mouse movements through the interface as a user would.
hehe, sorry! :) all the UK sites were migrated over here - annoying losing a lot of votes on ideas and other history... still finding my way around...... just saw the topic about SDK as a related article from the dev site and didn't see this was the Canadian group!
