Workflows and remote cell phone email SSL/TLS setup

Has anyone ever setup remote (outside of network) email access where workflow buttons trigger the action in the related X3 workflow?  

I’m searching for information regarding cell phone, or remote email access to X3 generated workflow emails that require approval or rejection.  The classic purchase requisition approval workflow email is the subject matter (PSHSIG).  In this instance, would a SSL /TLS certificate be required?  What is the procedure to setup remote email (outside of network) approvals?   The buttons only appear to work when inside the network.  

Hope this makes sense.  Any information would be helpful.

    Hello,

    One idea, is you would be to have an external address for EM, and do what ever is needed in networking side, such that internal users and external users use the same URL.

    In other words when a Workflow link is generated, imagine, if the person whose action is generating it like PO creation, was connecting to EM with the same URL , which an external user outside of network can use.

    ( the above is actually a requirement for Sage Pay integration , and if you look at the how to guide on the online help for Sage Pay you will see a suggestion at the end)
