Elasticsearch is an open source search and analytics engine.  It stores JSON documents and adds searchable references in the form of indexes.

In Sage X3, elastic search is used on the search bar at the top of the dashboard once you have successfully logged in the system. It is also used for help topics when a folder is not linked to the online help.
