- 28 February 2023: End of tax year 2022/2023
Task to complete
- Print the IRP5/IT3a Validation report to identify possible error or outstanding information
- Reconcile your payroll values (EMP501 History Report) with your monthly EMP201 declarations and payment for PAYE, SDL, UIF and ETI
- Complete your final payroll for 2022/2023 tax year
- Create a Tax Year-end Copy System of your final February payroll, before starting your March payroll - this copy system will be used to generate your tax certificates and submission files

- 8 March 2023: Release 6.0a available, including the 2023/2024 tax tables
- 21 March 2022: Public holiday - Human Rights Day (Tuesday)

- Update your live payroll to Release 6.0a (available from 8 March 2023). This is a mandatory update for all users.
- Attend the 2023 Annual Payroll Tax Update webinar presented by Rob Cooper (click here for more details)
- Review all payroll records and print the IRP5/IT3a Validation report to identify possible errors or outstanding information
- Reconcile your payroll values (EMP501 History Report) in you Tax Year-end Copy System (if not done previously) with your monthly EMP201 declarations and payment for PAYE, SDL, UIF and ETI

- 1 April 2023: Employer Annual Reconciliation submission opens *
- 7 April 2023: Submit your EMP201 for March 2023 (Friday)
- 7 April 2023: Public holiday - Good Friday (Friday)
- 10 April 2023: Public holiday - Family Day (Monday)
- 27 April 2023: Public holiday - Freedom Day (Thursday)
- 30 April 2023: Deadline for Workplace Skills Plan / Actual Training Reports (Skills Reports) to SETA (the deadline falls on a Sunday - please confirm the date with your SETA)
