Summary
How to resolve the validation error No SDL reference number or Company is Exempt but SDL has been calculated for one or more employees.
Description
You are generating the IRP5 files for either the Annual or Interim SARS Submission and instead of creating the IRP5 files the system informs you there is mandatory information outstanding. A report will then print with a list of errors and this error is in the report.
Cause
The validation indicates that an employee has a value on a deduction line defined as SDL (code 4142), however the Company does not have a SDL Reference number or is set to Exempt on the Basic Company Information Screen
Resolution
- Determine if SDL must calculate for the company
- If SDL must be calculated, ensure the details are completed correctly on the Basic Company Information Screen
- If the company is exempt, and SDL was calculated, the values will need to be removed and declarations must be adjusted, if declared/paid to SARS
- If the report is run for multiple companies, ensure all companies are setup the same and that the Basic Company Information Screen details are correct. Each company will have to be checked
