e@syFile v6.9.2 import error: "Remuneration Paid, If the employee does not qualify for ETI zeroes must be reported for the ETI amounts for ETI Month mm - code 7002" for employees who qualified for ETI within the past 6 months

e@syFile Employer 6.9.2 was released on 13 October 2018, and all users accessing the application is prompted to upgrade to the new version.

We have found that as from the new version, that payroll files generated from Sage 200c VIP and Sage VIP (Release 5.1a), failed the import with the following error messages (mm in the messagerefers to the calendar month) on the Import Payroll File Log:

  • Remuneration Paid, If the employee does not qualify for ETI zeroes must be reported for the ETI amounts for ETI Month mm - code 7002
  • ETI Hours, If the employee does not qualify for ETI zeroes must be reported for the ETI amounts for ETI Month mm - code 7007
  • ETI Wage Paid, If the employee does not qualify for ETI zeroes must be reported for the ETI amounts for ETI Month mm - code 7008

The error messages are related to a new validation that was changed/corrected in the new release of e@syFile:

"Correction to import validation to ensure that no values (except zero) may be input where the employee does not qualify for ETI which resulted in incorrect calculation of ETI totals"

Currently, the Sage application will export the ETI History values for ETI Remuneration Paid (code 7002), ETI Hours (code 7007) and ETI Wage Paid (code 7008) in a period where the ETI calculated was zero, in the IRP5 payroll file.

According to the validation, the value on these IRP5 codes must be zero. This issue was never experienced during beta testing of the SARS software nor on the e@syFile v6.9.0 and v6.9.1 software.

Solution:

  • Sage will be releasing an updated patch file for Release 5.1a within this week, to address the issue and change the values on the codes 7002, 7007 and 7008 to zero, in months where an employee did not qualify for ETI.

Please keep you eye on Sage City for more details on when the new patch file is available for Sage 200c VIP and Sage VIP Release 5.1a.
