Can anyone briefly explain what the procedure is in SEI?
It would be much better if an example could be added.
Thanks in advance!
Hi Ethan,
What specific procedure are you referring to?
The SEI online help (https://onlinehelp.sageenterpriseintelligence.com/Latest/en/Home.htm) contains some step-by-step procedures with print screens.
By the way, Sage University is offering SEI classes in May.

Pam
Hi Pam,
The procedure I mean is the procedure in 'stored procedure'.
I also checked the weblink. It mainly illustrates the steps of precedure repated operations, but not clarifies the definition of procedure.
Thanks Pam. It helps resolve my problem.
I'm still confused on what is the purpose or why I would want to use a stored procedure... What problem does it help solve ?
Hi Allison,
There are a number of reasons that you may use a stored procedure. It is another of way of gathering data . You might have calculations on the data that you want to present. It may improve performance.

Pam
so it is something similar to a view in SQL ?
I took this explanation from https://365datascience.com/
"A view represents a virtual table. You can join multiple tables in a view and use the view to present the data as if the data were coming from a single table.
"A stored procedure uses parameters to do a function. It can be updating and inserting data, or returning single values or data sets."
