To enable to enable or disable a custom button, add or remove the button code from the variable CHMEN, see code below:

CHMEN +=  "XXX"                                                            
Gosub SET_BOUT_SPE From GSAISIE

The above will be added in the SETBOUT label of your object. 

Thanks, how do disable the button? Usually on a object managed screen they are usually disabled by default.

Mike the value in variable CHMEN determine if a screen is active or not. If the button code appears in the CHMEN variable then it will be activated, if not it will be disabled.

##################################################
# Enable button with associated button code Z

CHMEN =  "Z"

Hi Regard Hulsbos Do you know why this is depending on the window type? Usually the buttons are handled with CHAINE and the menus with CHMEN. Why are buttons handled with CHMEN in case the window type is not "object"? And if we go further: How would you be able to put a custom menu in the right list in this constellation? I added it to the CHMEN variable but the custom menu does not show up. Regards, Benjamin

In the instance you mentioned above, you should look at the template type "Window entry", specifically under the SETBOUT label description:

Unlike the object template type which uses source GOBJET for all processing, window entry uses GSAISIE and has a different set of accessible parameters. For this template type, the button/menu variables of concern are "CBOUT" for buttons and "CHMEN" for menu associated items. 

To disable standard buttons/menus, you need to add the line "Gosub SET_BOUT_STD From GSAISIE" in your SETBOUT label after making changes to the CHBOU/CHMEN variable.

To disable custom buttons/menus you need to add the line Gosub SET_BOUT_SPE From GSAISIE" in your SETBOUT label after making changes to the CHBOU/CHMEN variable.
