Within the General tab of the Setup User screen there is a field for Profession Code.  

1.  What does that equate to in the scheme of things?  (Role/Group?)

2.  Is it necessary to have a value in that field?

Typically we only enter Login, Menu Profile and Function Profile.  Thanks for any assistance or advice!
