How to set the allocation type on a pick ticket to “Global”?

2 minute read time.

A sales order allocation type can be set to 'Global' or 'Detailed'.

Depending on the general parameter "ALLTYP" we can default the allocation type to either ‘Global’ or ‘Detailed’.

For this discussion we will set this parameter to ‘Global’, create a sales order, generate a pick ticket with global allocation and finally pick it using the mobile automation (ADC).

1. Generate a sales order - the allocation type on the header and lines defaulted to ‘Global’.

Note, on the sales order screen we cannot use the “Preparation” button to generate the pick ticket, because it will automatically set the pick ticket line to detailed allocation.

2. We must use the dedicated functions under sales module shipment preparation menu.

    a. Generate preparation lists (FUNAUTPRE)

  b. Preparation plan (FUNPREP)

We will use the preparation plan function for this discussion.

3. In preparation plan you can search the SOs or select a preparation list to pick the sales order lines.

  • I have two sales order lines and the second one has the allocation type set to ‘Global’.

4. Select the SO line that has the global allocation type and click the “Prep list” button to generate a preparation list.

5. Select the Allocation type drop down button and set the allocation type to ‘Global’.

6. Generate the pick ticket using the “Pick ticket” button.

  • Go to the pick ticket screen and notice the allocation type is still ‘Global’ and the stock issue entry screen doesn’t have a stock line assigned.

7. Use the mobile automation (ADC) to pick the above pick ticket.

   a. Set the site and click the Picking icon.

   b. Select “Pick ticket”

   c. Scan or enter the pick list number

   d. Select the pick ticket

   e. Scan or enter the picking information and click “Submit”

   f. Click “Yes” to set the pick ticket to deliverable.

That completes the picking process in ADC, pick ticket has been detail allocated and set to deliverable.

I hope this information is helpful.
