I especially notice a lot of lag in:
- payroll timecard line entry
- A/P invoice entry lines
- querying vendor/payroll/client/job records
Is it just me?
Thank you for contacting us. The vast majority of our customers are not experiencing this issue of skipping fields/slowness in the grid which leads us to suspect particular user environments may be are contributing to this issue. One solution that we have seen help is to put exclusions in the antivirus. We are investigating at this time so please check back to our knowledgebase article #80574 for any updates.
We are having the same problem as well - extremely slow when tabbing through the entry fields. Mostly in the payroll records screens.
I have contacted Sage and IT. No one has an answer for me. It seems several people are having this issue!
I am having the same issue with Payroll Records (5-2-2), Payable Invoice/Credits (4-2) and Change Orders (6-4-1). Not only is the movement slow, it also skips fields. You hit <enter> once, then it pauses and moves over 2 cells.
Very frustrating
We continue to have the same issues. Especially when opening the 1-3 screen via menu or drill down. Very frustrating.
We are having problems also. I don't believe it is a user problem or a networking problem.
This is absolutely a huge problem. I do not believe it is isolated and for those of us who have been battling this mess for a long time, it is no consolation to hear that the "vast majority of customers are not experiencing this issue"
We've played all the games related to antivirus, trying at server, trying in many different environments. No solutions have been found.
I began an account here for this issue alone. Not only does Sage 100 Contractor continue to skip lines on entry and duplicate/auto fill incorrectly (which decreases our production dramatically) but the newest "upgrade" (ie. version 20) has dropped important functions and added useless functions. Overally I am very unhappy with Sage and their inability to support their client base. After 20 years with this product, I have begun to investigate other software options.
Yes, we are having this problem also. It is frustrating to work with Sage V20 because of the slowness in data entry, load time and reporting. It is even more frustrating that Sage seems to blame the end user rather tackle the problem.
A more recent update has solved the issue for me (running v20.5.164.0) BUT I am very upset with Sage's v20 because as a small business we were not working with an SQL server but did a complete overhaul of our network, added the server and the IT service to maintain the server because I was told that we would no longer be able to update Sage if I did not! NOW YOU DO NOT NEED TO RUN AN SQL SERVER!
That is too bad you did all of the IT overhaul. Frustrating. We are running 20.6.75.0 and still having the problem. And we were told we still needed the SQL so we did go with that.
Thank you to all who have responded here. We do appreciate your feedback.
We have been diligently working on this issue. Because of the differences in scenarios and environments, it has been a trial by error as we tested several possible fixes. At this point, we do have a build available if you are experiencing issues in the following areas:
Also, the general job costing grid that follows an accounting transaction like 4-2 or 1-3.
If you are experiencing grid skipping issues in these areas, please contact [email protected] AND [email protected] to receive the latest update of 20.6.85.
If you are experiencing any other issues, please contact our Customer Support at 800-866-8049 for immediate assistance.
Totally agree with you! I used to LOVE Sage products but now after the version 20 upgrade, I am not liking them much! It is slow and it added hundreds of unknown accounts of which it will take weeks to clean up. Wishing for V19 back!
Sorry to hear you had migration issues. That is why we HIGHLY recommend a trial migration for users to review data and verify custom reports before the final migration. If you things that were restored, they were likely attached to records that still exist in your current data. I know a certified consultant who does data repairs behind the scenes if you'd like a quote.
How many prior years have not been archived? Do you archive closed jobs at that time? There are basic housekeeping that will help with speed. Otherwise your IT people should review the Sage requirements and possibly do some upgrades on your workstations or server.
