2021 Inventory Cost for on hand quantity

SUGGESTED

I have a client that has concerns regarding the COST on Maintain Parts now available to change on inventory parts that have quantity on hand in the new 2021 version. This is new and NOT a good upgrade. Can you let me know if this is going to be corrected in Service Patch?

You can change security settings for each user so that they are not able to access that section on Maintain Parts. We rely on it heavily when obsoleting parts at year end.

This was changed in the 2021 version - It used to be Greyed out so it couldn't be changed and the employee that was looking could know that there should be stock on hand because it was greyed out.  Now it seems that it is open no matter what.  Just wondering why SAGE would change that.

    DeeDee-

That is interesting.  In testing in my SAMPLE company, the Unit cost is greyed out and unavailable to update the unit cost for any part that has a On Hand quantity.  The only time the system should allow you to update the unit cost is if they are using the STANDARD costing method or if the On Hand Quantity is zero.  If that is not the case for your customer then what your customer is experiencing is unusual and we would you to set up an appointment to work with a support analyst to we can troubleshoot their issue further.   Other things to consider and review - is this happening for all companies and for all parts?

    Sincerely,

I will be back on site at this client next week and will research more then.  I think I know how it is supposed to work and it was working that way before the upgrade.  The client pointed it out to me.  They are on LIFO - Thanks
