Can't Create Control when opening Order Entry Screen

SOLVED

Hello Everyone,

I ran into the Cant' Create Control issue after I installed Sage 300 on a Laptop.  Full install not workstation install,  Installed 'As Administrator,

Ran RegAcc.exe 'As Administrator'.  Launch Sage 300 'As Administrator'.  Nearly all the screens open okay.  The Order Entry Transaction screens give the error.

Scaling on the display is 100%.  Resolution is 1248 x 780 or something like that.  It's an old version of Sage 300 (2012) but it still runs on other machines at the client.

What should I be looking at to fix this?

Any and All Advice Appreciated,

Dana

    Hi Dana -

Just had this same issue and wanted to share what we did to solve it.

We checked screen resolution, did the regacc, reinstalled workstation and similar to your experience only certain screens gave the Can't create control message - in our case A/P invoice entry and a/p create payment batch.

Here are the steps that resolved our issue - logged into workstation as a domain ADMIN:

    1) uninstall workstation

    2) go into control panel and uninstall all Microsoft Visual C++ xxxx Redistributable items there.  ALL of them!

    3) Reboot

    4) reinstall workstation setup - it will prompt you about installing a prerequisite C++ - Install this

    5) continue with workstation setup - make sure the shared data path does not have any " in the path

Then test out Sage / icons that were giving the error before.

    Thank you,

    Marc

    Thanks Marc,

I thought I had posted the outcome but basically it was an extra path to runtime AND Service Manager had not been installed.  Previously I had gone thru what you mentioned.

    I appreciate your input.

    Dana
