Item Valuation Report

We are trying to customize an "Item Valuation Report" for a client, as the stock report(s) dont fit their layout needs.

Almost everything we need is in ICILOC table, except: we need to be able to run it by "cut off dates", so quantity information would change according to the "date" we choose.

My understanding is that we would need to link ICILOC to ICIVAL, now here comes a few questions:

1. why ICIVAL has to be put in a subreport?

2. If we write this in Business Intelligence, with SQL Query, how should these two tables to be jointed?
