Sage 300 2022 G/L Statement Designer using 64-bit Excel Add-in 'FR View' does not open

Upgraded to Sage 300 v2022 and having problems with the G/L Statement Designer with 64-bit Excel.

Workstations with 32-bit Excel 2016 work fine (after running Sage 300 in administrator mode), but others that have 64-bit Excel 2019 do not. All are running 64-bit Windows 10, fully updated.

The 64-bit Excel opens fine and the FR menu has been inserted in the Add-ins menu. However the FR View... item does nothing; no pop-up window or error messages. Other menu items such as FR Clear... and FR Options... are working/responding.

I followed the reinstall process from the following forum with no success:

Any suggestions? Thanks...

  • I just recently upgraded a client to 2022 PU1.  They have no problems with Win-10 and 64-bit excel.

  • One of my clients could not print GL financial stmts either after upgrade to 2022.  Don't know why but when I changed the form to run a default stmt it worked and then their custom ones worked after that.

  • It does not matter what Excel statement you have opened... FR View will not open the filter dialog even for the new, empty Excel spreadsheet that is first opened when you hit 'Start' from Sage G/L Statement Designer. For a 32-bit Excel, FR View responds properly for that initial Excel window.

I know many users have it working fine, but on my network, the two 64-bit Excels don't. Hopefully someone else had my problem and found a way to fix it.

As far as I know, Sage has yet to acknowledge any problems with FR in 64-bit Excel, but I suspect that a mixed environment (some 32-bit, some 64-bit Excel workstations) creates an issue.

Thanks... I was thinking that. I can test that in my sandbox...

  • All of the other FR menu items work for me. The only one that does not is the important one: the view ...

    Sandbox update:

    • In the sandbox, 64-bit Excel 2019-FR View does work on the host server (Server 2016)
    • Redirecting a production 32-bit Excel workstation (that worked fine) to the sandbox, it still worked fine
    • Redirecting an exiting (non-working) production 64-bit Excel workstation to the sandbox, still did NOT work. Reinstalling Office and ERP as per the link above still did NOT work

From the above observations, there is no problem mixing 32-bit and 64-bit Excels on the same system. The problem is somewhere in the installation on the workstation... what that is, I do not know.

I conducted a test for a client who has been waiting for 64-bit FR for some time. Fresh install of Sage 300 with full admin for both Office and Sage, workstation had only ever had 64bit Excel, and still can not get the reports to run. Tried Sage's steps to resolve and still no luck!

After waiting a week for an answer, Sage Oz support just told me an error may occur when trying to run Financial Reporter in 64-bit in an environment where 2022 PU2 was installed without PU1 installed, and the resolution is to run regacc after PU2 is installed:

Could this explain why some systems work and others don't, apparently at random?

I had already run regacc but ran it again on the Sage server and the workstation (in this case an RDP server) with no improvement.

I guess I could uninstall the workstation, uninstall PU1 on the server, install PU2, run regacc, then install the workstation , presumably with regacc and reboot after every step.
