Migration from PFW to Sage 300 ERP

Hi there,

We are migrating from Sage PFW to Sage 300 ERP 2014 and when processing the Sage ERP Migration Application the following error occurred:

“SemMain has stopped working”

-We uninstalled and reinstalled the program

-Ran the program as an administrator.

-Disabled the anti-viruses and the firewall.

-Checked the Event viewers.

nothing works.

Any idea out there?

No other error?
I've been using SEM for years, never had a problem. What is SEM doing when it errors? Extracting data? Have you changed the default 30 second time out to 300 seconds?

Sorry for my newbie question but what do you mean by change default 30 sec time out to 300 sec.?

Once SEM opens you will see a 30 second time out on the right, midway down the screen.

We had the exact same thing happen yesterday. Worked fine three months ago. Did same reinstall with support could not find resolution. Can anyone help?

Which version of SEM? There were a couple of updates.
Which O/S is SEM installed on?

The version we are using is 2.05 on a Windows 7 machine.

2.05 is the latest (last) version released. I'm running on Win2012 R2 server.
How far do you get when you open SEM? Does it crash immediately, or can you open it and start the conversion process?

I does not crash immediately, but when we press the View Link Information icon at the top of the screen on the left.

We can not extract data. When w try we get an error "Unable to extract one of the selected nodes. Failed to extract data for source entity 'PWF_2010_BB_DISTRIBUTION_CODES'. Additional Pervasive.Data.SQLClient.Lna.k:[LNA][Pervasive][ODBC Engine Interface][Data Record Manager] The MicroKernel cannot find the specified file (Btrieve Error 12)

Pervasive?!?! Are you sure that that PFW version can be converted? The older ones couldn't be.

Jip, Sage PFW uses Pervasive.... I think the version you can convert from has to be 2010. I speak under correction here.... the details are in the SEM document.

Just checked the SEM document, the version is Sage PFW 2010 (5.9) and Pervasive v10.0 or higher.

You are missing Sage PFW data files, check the data. If you copied files from a client site then some files were not copied, possibly they had PFW open when you copied the data.
