F1 weirdness

So, F1 help was working fine at the client until yesterday.  She did some MS updates over the weekend, now it shows the "tree" view but none of the content.  They are NOT getting the "page cannot be found" error described in KB but is the resolution the same as following those instructions?

I ask because I thought I'd seen a different resolution to this particular issue but now cannot locate it in the KB or in my archive notes.
