Invalid data - out of present range.

SOLVED

I'm working with the Intelligence add-in in Sage 100 2015.  Excel 2013.

Working from one computer designing the financial template.

However, when I switch over to the computer that will be the final user and run the template,  I get some weird effects.

Most of the cells suddenly become date formatted.   I discovered that the NORMAL format template has the default cell format set to date.  I can switch it back and that resolves that problem?  I'm not sure if that is going to stick yet.

Oddly enough, if I create a new excel spreadsheet from scratch the NORMAL format looks ok.

However, every formula field is returning  "Invalid data - out of present range. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8002000A (DISP_E_OVERFLOW))"

I have verified that all the add-ins are present in excel.

The only possibility I can come up with at the moment is that the computer being used to design the template is using Excel 2010.  The end user is using Excel 2013.

Just tried an experiment creating a new template from scratch on the end user's computer and seems to be working ok.

Suggestions?

    Hi Tom.

From what I've read this is an environmental issue that sometimes happens on Windows 7, see below. Although the article doesn't provide an obvious solution, it is dated 2014. So I suggest giving 100 support a call as things may have progressed since then.

    Hi Tom.

I may have pasted the wrong link in the last post.

Firstly I'd make sure you're saving the template in .xltx format, but I'm sure you know this. The only article I could find is the one below and I'm thinking maybe there is a compatibility issue with the original report/template from your side and the destination machine you're trying to use it on. I suggest giving 100 support a call to see if there's a later version of the report available and try that. Otherwise maybe they need to investigate the environment of the destination machine.

I'm beginning to suspect the original report/template does have some sort of compatibility issue as well. The original template was created a couple of years back.

I tried an experiment creating a fresh template in their system from scratch and I'm not getting an issue. So now the trick is to copy over the formulas from the original template and see if it continues to work. Fingers crossed.

    Struck out again. :(

Seems like copying anything from my original template to a new template just isn't working. In fact I got the new template to crash even on the same machine after exiting and re-entering?

I think that the template was modified in the Sage 100 2016 version of Intelligence and then I was trying to copy it back to a Sage 100 2015 version. That would make sense that I could have problems.

In any event, I basically ended up recreating the template in 2015 totally from scratch and everything seems to be good.
