Quotes from Sage 100 ERP integration as PDF (cross-posted)

Hello!

Can PDFs that we create through Crystal Reports in ERP be automatically loaded into CRM quotes/documents?

We're working with a Sage CRM 7.3a & Sage 100 ERP integration, and therefore we are creating quotes and orders using the ERP Sales Order Entry panel. The quotes created in ERP show up in the CRM quote view, but the native CRM view does not include some fields (e.g. Product Line) that we need to include in our quotes.

Based on our research, it will take quite a bit of development to map all of the desired fields from ERP to CRM so that the CRM quotes will look like our ERP quotes. We can and do already create PDF quotes to our liking within ERP using Crystal Reports, so we would like to find a way to automatically import these Crystal Reports PDFs into CRM.

In a perfect world, the behavior would be:

  • create a quote in ERP Sales Order Entry panel
  • print the quote to PDF (through Crystal Reports)
  • PDF file is automatically saved with a predefined filename in a designated location
  • PDF file is automatically imported into CRM under the appropriate quote

At present, the process to get an ERP quote PDF into CRM is:

  • create a quote in ERP Sales Order Entry panel
  • print the quote to PDF (through Crystal Reports)
  • save the ERP Crystal report PDF file to a network location
  • manually import the PDF file on the CRM side (drag and drop to CRM Documents or attached to a CRM email)

While this manual approach works, it's not seamless, which an integrated CRM should be, and it also does not provide automated control over the PDF filenames.

Thank you in advance for any insight you can offer,

Darrell
