In V12, the allocation date (IPTDAT) is managed in the import template using the global variable *1. I assume this was the same in v7.
So ensure you have a line with *1 in your template and that you import a date in your file (current date or past date) matching the same position.

Thank you for your response. And yes, *1 is the same global variable in v7. I just don't understand why Sage wouldn't list this as a mandatory field. Or is it to be assumed that all global variables in Import Templates are mandatory?

I will report your comment to the documentation team. Not all global variables are mandatory (see the *2) but when creating stock movements and time tracking, the allocation date is always mandatory. 

An import template is basically the simulation of a manual transaction (all controls done upon manual transactions are done upon import). So whenever, you face an error upon an import, try to redo the same entry manually. 

I hope you now succeeded to import the time.
