Dynamic data in SAGE X3 crystal report file (.RPT)

SUGGESTED

Am new in sage x3 crystal report configuration.

Initially i have a file in  C:\ProgramData\Sage\Safe X3 Client\V1\Data\X3_X3SERVER_1806\ENG\Report\SBONFAC.rpt

Am printing a modified crystal report. So i edited the file SBONFAC.rpt in
crystal report 2013, the queries is to pull data from a table in SIVOICE on a field.

On viewing the modified file i can not see the the field i modified.

WHAT I WANT TO ACHIEVE IS INSERT A FIELD "RRR" on SBONFAC.rpt
 which WILL SHOW ON PRINTING

Someone help out.

    Hello,

Just focusing your concern, of "On viewing the modified file i can not see the the field i modified."

First what version and patch do you have?
From the look most likely you are in V6 or lower.

There are two type of Printing in V6, Print server printing, and local printing.

The Main repository of crystal files in EM is under Folders\[Name of your folder]\Report\Language\

So you could potentially have a report under for example .

    ..\Folders\DEMO\REPORT\ENG\SOBNFAC.rpt
    ..\Folders\X3\REPORT\ENG\SOBNFAC.rpt

So when you print a report, EM first checks under your folder and if it can't find it will use the file on X3 folder.

But then depends on if you are doing print server printing vs local printing, same file will get copied to Safe X3 Client\V1\ ( which is local printing) or to a directory on print server for faster printing.

So long story short , if you change the report under Safe X3 Client\V1\ next time you print, a fresh copy will get copied from the server, and you should change the one on the server.

Lastly you may want to think about taking the Crystal training offered by SageU
