What is the most restrictive use-by date (UBD) method for a Product Recontrol/Expiration?

1 minute read time.

The UBD lead time is used to determine the use-by date for a product, based on its stock receipt date:

UBD= Lot receipt date + UBD coefficient

If a UBD is entered for a product, the coefficient is used to calculate, in calendar days, the use-by date lead time, based on the shelf life defined at the product level code and it must be between 0.1 and 1:

UBD lead time = Shelf life x UBD coefficient.

A UBD coefficient can be entered in the Product record, in the Product-site record and in the Customer-product record.

This UBD on the product will be taking into consideration as the first restrictive level if no UBD is entered in the Product-site or Customer-product.

If a UBD is entered on a Product-site, it is considered the second restrictive level and the calculation will be taking into consideration when a product is entered for that specific site.

If a UBD is entered on the Customer tab for a product, the UBD is used to determine the use-by date specific to that customer. This UBD is the most restrictive calculation level the system will use as the UBD defined for the customer overrules the one defined for the Product-site.
