In this blog I want to call attention a situation where you may encounter names of certain menu items appear to be different when compared to what you are used to seeing. You may find this situation more common in a support role when working with different language settings. For example, while working on a Sage X3 vm, I was attempting to duplicate a problem.  I was following the steps to duplicate. When I got to the step…

Hey all, today’s topic is going to be on how to update the ADXAdmin component. This should be even simpler than my previous blog on “Learning to update the Runtime Component (RT)” that I posted last month. The ADXAdmin is the very first component that you install when you start setting up Sage X3. It is also one of the first components that you would update before updating anything else. The ADXAdmin component…

Occasionally for audits, budgeting or testing purposes, we may have to review our currency rate history. What is the easiest way to do this without having to create SQL queries or other custom reports?

The currencies themselves are set up under Common data, Currency tables, Currency. This is where the three-letter currency code, symbol and formats are established, but not the rates. (For information on the Euro Conve…

In Manufacturing, we all know that we can use the Production tracking function "GESMTK" to track work orders one at a time. However, what if we want to track more than one work order, or let’s say we want to mass track work orders with their operations, materials, and productions! Is that even possible?

In Sage X3, Production tracking block, there is a function called Managing the tracking plans "…

Have you ever entered work order(s) and then remembered changes to the Routing or BOM needs to happen? Then did you go for a cup of a coffee and spend the rest of the day ill with worry? It’s okay, X3 has you covered with a cool featured called Levelling WO. And it may be just what you need.

While filing 1099s is still fresh in your mind, have you changed the default on you BP supplier’s 1099 form from MISC / Box 7 to form NEC / Box 1?  Yes, that 1099-NEC will be around for the 2021 fillings. It won't be painful. You know that it will make the people who key in the vendor invoices so happy to have the default 1099 defaults correct. So, come on and let’s get started!

So…Web Scheduler has been implemented. A Total Import or Partial Import was performed to bring Work Orders from X3 into the scheduler. Then working within the Resource grid in Web Scheduling, some work orders had the production plan modified to start/end on a different day and/or time, but now those changes are not appearing in Sage X3.

In X3 we have several ADC (Automated Data Collection) functions under ADCs menu.

Many of you know how to use the ADC receipts function to generate a purchase receipt. But do you know that we can receive an intersite purchase order using the same function?

To illustrate this process, first we need to make sure the setup is taken care of.

    Evening readers,

For today’s topic, we are going to cover how to update the Runtime Component. It won’t be a complicated topic, I promise. Runtime updating is actually quite simple and pretty easy to do. There is little gotchas that you have to watch out for and that’s really where we will be discussing when it comes to the details. As I walk through the updating, I will point out commonly overlooked aspects and gotchas…

Available stock inquiry is used to project the available stock and the stock available to promise, for a given product or site and for a period in days, weeks, or months, from a reference date.

Request horizon date will determine the start date of the period to show the requirements. When the start date of the period is less than the request horizon date, then no requirements are calculated on or prior to that date.
