I am filing my annual GST return for 2017. My TB says I owe 1008.00 but when I go to Reports and Taxes, it says I owe 2239.00. My total ‘taxes charged’ on that report is correct but my ‘taxes paid’ is off by 1200.00. Why the discrepancy and how do I fix it?

It's possible to make entries that affect the G/L balance and not the Sales Tax report:

     - Entering a journal entry and not hitting the 'sales taxes' button,

     - Entering a Sales Tax amount as a line item (i.e. when recording border taxes and duty).

You could use vlookup or a pivot table in Excel to compare the G/L listing for the taxes paid account to the tax report amounts.

(use copy / paste Special to subtract the Credit amount from the Debit column to get the G/L numbers into one column or positive & negative numbers)

I hope that helps, please post back.
