Multicurrency with Multiple Entities in Single Sage 300 Database

SOLVED

A company wishes to setup Sage 300 for their operations in 4 different countries, 4 different currencies all reporting back to a single currency.    There are two options

Option 1:  4 different Sage 300 Databases

Option 2:  1 Sage 300 database with a entity segment.  This is the desired option for many obvious reasons.

Example

Functional Currency of  USD

-100 source currency of CAN

-200 source currency of USD

-300 source currency of GBP (does have some transactions with a source of USD or CAN )

I am being told that with a single Sage 300 DB's if I wish to record my USD or CAN source transactions to my -300 GBP entity it will be necessary to convert that to GBP first.

It is being implied that if I  setup each of my entities as a separate Sage 300 database this would not be a limitation.   Can anyone confirm that this is true.

    Hi Valerie,

You could use separate databases and use FRS for your financial statement reporting. FRS allows you to set up Company Groups and print separate or consolidated financial statements in your currency of choice. It will automatically consolidate companies with different functional currencies. More info here: http://www.dingosoft.co/frs.html

It will also work with the new web screens shortly. In fact we just printed the first financial statement from the web screens today.

    Cheers
