Workflow and Pipeline for Quotes/Orders

Hi All, using Sage 100 Integrated with Sage CRM

I have read through a bunch of posts and I see some of you might have similar questions already but I wasnt quite getting the answer I needed so I want to post here and explain:

In our Company, an opportunity IS a Quote/Order (Which is simply a sales order in Sage 100)

In an ideal world, instead of the opportunity pipeline and workflow, we would have a pipeline of all Quotes AND Orders (they are the same entity in Sage 100. Only difference is the Status field) and we would be able to use workflow.

Since there is no pipeline for Quotes/Orders, I cannot utilize the fields in Quotes/Orders in Screens and Lists.

Simply put. Has anyone successfully created a pipeline for Quotes and Orders, as well as attach a workflow to them???

    I am not very familiar with the integration with Sage 100. But...

    1) Workflow on Quotes & Orders. When the Quotes and Orders entities were created it was decided in the design that they would not use 'user driven' workflow independent of Opportunities. The raising of a quote or an order was consider to be part of the lifecycle of the parental opportunity. Having said that escalation rules can be created for Quotes and Orders so additional time driven behaviour can be introduced.

    2) Pipelines on Quotes & Orders. The short answer is that you can't have them. The longer answer is that the ASP COM API & the .NET API will allow you to create pipeline charts for community.sagecrm.com/.../pipeline-demo.aspx

    The easy answer is to create a report on Quotes & Orders and include a funnel chart in the report. Then display the funnel in a chart gadget on an interactive dashboard either in the 'My CRM' or Company dashboard.
