Uploading Transactional Data into Sage 50 - CSV or XLS?

Hi all,

Can Sage 50 import transactional data (mainly AP invoice details) if it was in a CSV or XLS format?

I currently use an OCR capture software to gather the invoice details (and upload it into a cloud based document mgmt system), but I would like to integrate it with the accounting platform so that I don't have to hand-key anything here either (if possible).

Anyone come across some ideas or options?

    Hi Riaz,

Since your post relates directly to Sage 50 CA, I am going to move your question to that Support Group so that other users of this software will see it and can offer their thoughts and insight.

    Thanks,

    Derek

Sage 50 has an import capability for most types of transactions.

    It's a comma-delimited format, and imports

invoice header information - invoice number, date, order number, vendor.

Invoice detail - item numbers, prices, quantities, and tax amounts.

I'm guessing it may not be a feature that's easy to use? When I called in to find out from the sales team, they said it wasn't possible...

I'm currently toying between using either QB or this. My preference is for Sage50 but the import utility would be a definite boost!

Search the KB for "How to access the SDK tool for Sage 50 Accounting–Canadian Edition" for the SDK kit, check out the purchase order import layout. If it does not look like its going to drop me an e-mail at www.bithelp.ca  we have an import utility

    From the FAQ at www.chimpkey.com:

"E-invoicing is very popular these days, so we have great solutions for SAP, Navision, Quickbooks, Sage 50, Great Plains, Business Vision and more"

So, yes it's possible.   The Sales team at Sage can't keep track of which brand X 'thunder cloud lightning 2.0' does Y, but the people at Brand X who are trying to sell it will.

Similarly-ish, the car dealer might not know whether brand X sound system comes with the adapter to fit in the dash of their vehicles, but the people who sell the sound system have to know.
