VIP Premier v6.1b and updates

Hi, I ran my Feb 2024 payroll on 6.1b as that was confirmed to be the correct version from VIP before processing it, when I queried March 2024 version to run payroll, VIP said I can update from 6.1b to 6.2a for March payroll. I've come to the portal to get the download and I see people are saying your Copy System needs to be on 6.2a

Does that mean that I have to run the 6.2a update in my February 2024 payroll as well as the Copy system, that sounds wrong as that payroll is completed, paid etc.

Must I be on 6.1b in February 2024 and roll to new year, March 2024 and then do the update to 6.2a. I am very confused, as you cannot adjust payroll once it has been finalized.

Please can someone help me.

    On one section it says

    Install release 6.2a software in both live and tax year end copy System folders

    in another it says

    All RSA users must install the update in March.

    If you have already created a tax year end copy of your data, it is imperative to repeat the entire installation process in your tax year end directory.

    So my confusion is this,

    You must install it in March, in live and Copy System, but then says if you have already made a copy system then you must do it there as well.

    So if my "live" is still February as I have not rolled over yet, do I install it into my February 2024 before I roll to March (but they say do it in March) and I would have already done a full copy system if I am in March anyway, so why bring up if I have already done a copy system.

    I'm so confused

    What I'm thinking is correct:

    1) Do a full system copy as at 29 Feb 2024

    2) Do the year end roll over in Live system from Feb 2024 to March 2024 on current 6.1b version

    3) Run the update in Live March 2024 to 6.2a

    4) Run the update in full system copy, dated 29 Feb 2024, to 6.2a

    Hi Tracey, the suggestion about is correct - the release of the update in March 2024 worked for some users who did not make the copy system (who were still in February), thus only had to do 1 install of the update.

    If you have already done the copy system, and already rolled to the new tax year, the update should be installed on both live and copy system
