The new Tax File (Version 202205) for Zimbabwe is now available on the Software Downloads page and Sage Portal for Sage VIP Premier.
Zimbabwe’s Finance (No. 8) Act of 2022, it contains the following changes that affect payroll processing:
The changes were published end of October 2022.
Tax tables - See Section 3
- Below is the local currency (ZWL) tax tables for the various tax periods.
- The US Dollar tax tables remain unchanged for 2022 tax year.
- Effective 1 August 2022.
Bonus exemption – See Section 14(b)
- The tax-free bonus has increased to ZWL500 000.
- The foreign currency tax-free threshold remains unchanged at US$700.
- Effective 1 November 2022
Before installing the software, take note of the following:
- Your payroll software must be on Release 5.9a
- Your payroll company should be in a new pay period before installing the new tax tables
- Always make a Full System Backup before installing new tax files to your system folder

- Review the Additional Information document, before installing the new tax file
- Follow the installation instructions to complete install
