Frequently Asked Questions:
Q.: When will the Release 5.4c software be available to download and install?

A: As soon as the revision Amendment Bills become available, the Compliance team will review the revised Amendment Bills and confirm if there are any additional changes to the original Bills, which will need to be changed in the software.

The Product Development teams will be reviewing any changes and will implement and test the changes, to ensure the software calculations apply correctly.

Sage City will be updated as soon as the new software is available to download on the Customer Zone, please visit the Announcements forum regularly for the latest news.

Q: When will the Release 5.4c update need to be installed?

A: What is important, is that the update will need to be installed on your payroll application while your RSA companies are in the calendar month of May 2020 (salaries and wages), to ensure that the SDL will be correct, and the ETI changes (including backdated ETI table recalculations for April) is done correctly.

The software install and release notes will provide important information regarding the changes.

Q: How do I remove the SDL amount for May?

A: The update will apply the 0% SDL as from month the update is installed in the payroll going forward, and for weekly/bi-weekly companies, all SDL calculated for MTD will be reversed (thus the values for MTD+ will be zero). It is thus important that your RSA companies are in May 2020.

Q: What must I do if I need to pay or already paid my employees before the release of the 5.4c software?

A: The changes in the Amendments Bill affects ETI and SDL, thus should not impact on the employee's net salaries. There will be a forced recalculation during the update process to apply the new calculation changes.
  • Please ensure to do a General Recalculation before making payments and printing any reports.
  • Print reports reflecting the ne salaries of employees to compare before and after the update (to ensure there are no changes)
  • More details and steps to follow will be included with the Release 5.4c software when released for your to review, and will be communicated on Sage City. Please refer to these documents BEFORE installing the update.
