Leave Cycle

SUGGESTED

Morning,

Please can someone assist me? We are in the construction industry where all our bi-weekly wagers are only allowed to take leave during the December "Builders Holiday" period. This means however that all our employees who have worked for more than one year, would have all leave taken at the end of the year. I would like to adjust these employees' leave cycle to accrue leave from 1 January up to and including 31 December.

Thanks

Carin

    Hi Carin,

If a company's leave policy changes, you will be required to make the necessary changes on the Leave Control (where the cycle date needs to be amended for all new employees), and on the Leave Days screen of each employee. (where the next cycle date is defined).

    Leave Control:

The Cycle Date will always be the date the new cycle would start.

You will need to define the Carry Forward values, based on the policy, to define if any leave left over should be moved to another line (if no all leave is taken), or if the balance should clear.

(In the example above, the cycle starts on 01/01 of each year, and any leave carry forward just clears - 0% carries forward.)

    Leave Days:

If the change applies to all employees, the changes can be done using Global Leave Line changes. See the following article for more details:

(in the above example, the employee's next cycle starts on 01/01/2025, and no leave carries forward.)

Take note: We strongly recommend that you contact your Business Partner consultant for any leave setup related changes, to ensure the cycle changes and  carry-forward rules are done correctly,  and tested.
