Sage Accounting POPIA Updates

Dear Sage Community

At Sage, we’re committed to helping your business thrive by providing you with software that continues to support your business.

The Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) went into effective from 1 July 2021 and in the interest of disclosure you will have seen a pop-up notification when logging into Sage Accounting to inform you that we are utilizing cookies to understand and improve on your user experience.

As part of our ongoing commitment to continually support you we have made a few additional updates to Sage Accounting to assist you in managing sensitive or relevant data sufficiently for various Personal Information legislations.

What’s new…

Personal Information Protection

To assist you in managing sensitive or relevant data sufficiently we have improved Personal Information Protection in Sage Accounting. This includes you being able to update your company retention period on sensitive data subjects such as customers; suppliers; sales representatives; users and Accountants, which we highly recommend you check. To increase the security of your Sage Accounting login we have increased the character requirements for your passwords. Click here to find out more.

Updates to Email Communication

Sage Accounting previously gave you the option to opt out from receiving supportive emails from Sage via your profile. This has now been updated to unsubscribe directly from the email itself. Click here to find out more.
