Timeslips Outlook Link

I am using Timeslips Premium on a Windows 10 Pro system. Outlook is the Office 365 version and has been installed as a 32-bit program. I have entered Timeslips as a permitted application in the Windows Defender Firewall. But, the Enable Outlook Link button remains grayed out. What do I need to do to be able to enable the Outlook link for Timeslips?

  • The first thing I would ask is what you want to accomplish with the outlook link. In my experience very few users actually use this or understand. If you want to email bills you do NOT need the outlook link. 

    Assuming you really do want it, the first thing I would check is that the link is turned on in features enabled. This is found from settings at the top. 

  • First off, let's make sure you need to enable the Outlook link at all.  The VAST majority of Timeslips users do not. So just checking.

    What are you looking to gain by enabling the link? Are you looking to synchronize Contact and names and create slips from Outlook?

    Know that the link has nothing to do with emailing bills. That is a different setting.

  • I have the Outlook Link feature selected, and I use it all the time whenever I open a new client file. But the button to enable the link in the Outlook Link Dialog Box remains grayed out--inactive. So, your suggestions did not solve my problem, but thank you for your responses.

  • Thank you for the reply . We just sometimes spend a lot of time chasing this when what the user really wants is to email the bills.  So we are just checking on that first.

    So, it appears that you have been using the feature previously.  Was that on an other PC? Is this a new PC for you? Or has it been working and suddenly stopped?

  • In outlook you need to go to add-ins and make sure the add-in Is enabled.
