Timeslips able to send messages to clients?

SUGGESTED

Can I send a message to all our clients thru Timeslips? We are raising our hourly rates and need to let all our clients know.

Hello , and welcome to the Sage Timeslips forum here in Sage City.

Your question is open to a bit of interpretation, so I am going to be a bit specific with my response.

Sage Timeslips does not message clients. It can generate a bill or statement with a message on it, but it generally does not create anything like a message by itself. It also cannot send anything on its own. Some folks do use the Send Bills Via Email feature along with the 32-bit version of Outlook to send the bills out.  But in that scenario, Timeslips is generating the email with attached PDF of the bill, but then handing it off to Outlook to actually send it.

If you are trying to notify your customers/clients about your change in rates, I would absolutely advise that you add it to your billing template as a means of letting them know. But that might be insufficient to notify all your customers/clients, as some of them might not get a bill from you this cycle.

So, in addition to adding the message to the bills, I would recommend exporting the mailing list information from Timeslips (so as to get all customers) and printing/emailing them a notice so as to provide better notice of the increase. You can also take a look at the Mail Merge function found at the bottom of the Reports menu. That could create the DOC, but you would still have to snail/email it yourself.

Thank you! Yes I had already thought about adding to the billing template but we just billed for Dec! So I guess we will send it on the January bills. We do use Outlook to send the bills out.  I am going to try your suggestion of using Mail Merge function.

You might also create a report of all email addresses and send to to Excel.  Then copy the addresses and paste in the “bcc” field of the email.  You might not be able to get all in one email depending on how many names there are.
