Student License Has 197 Days Remaining, but blocking company access in 18 days??

SUGGESTED

I'm currently on a student license that has 197 days left. However, the company I've been working on the whole time now pops up a message when I open the company file that I will only have access to that particular file (the only file I use) for 18 more days.

My license is good, but I can't access my work?? What's going on? That seems strange.

Anyone know how I can rectify this to keep access to my work seeing as my license is completely valid?

    Hi  ,

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you're experiencing a discrepancy with your student license and the access to your company file. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this has caused.

To address this issue, let's take a couple of steps to ensure your work is not at risk:

    1. Backup Your Data: Please create a backup of your company file following the steps in our support article "How do I create a backup?" It's crucial to include the date in the file name to avoid overwriting previous backups.

    2. Relaunch the Program: After backing up, close and restart the software to see if the message about the 18-day limit persists. This could reset any temporary glitches.

    3. Check Recent Changes: Given that there have been recent changes to the student program, it would be worth checking if these changes affect your license.

    4. Restore from Backup: If the issue remains, try restoring your company file from the backup as detailed in our "How to restore from a backup" article.

    5. Student Version Support: If your software is indicating that your student version has expired erroneously, please follow the steps listed under "Error: Your student version has expired." in the last section of the support article. This involves uninstalling the software, using a cleanup utility, and reinstalling with the same activation codes.

If after these steps your issue isn't resolved, or you need further guidance, please do not hesitate to get back in touch and or reach out to [email protected].

    Warm Regards,
