Security Settings for New user

SOLVED

I am setting up a new user and only want them to have access to Project Management.

How do i just give them access to that only.

You would assign them to one or more Roles to provide access to your content.  If you don't already have a Role that provides only access to Project Management, you can first set one up.

You can get more information on setting up Security in Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate by navigating within Sage to Help > Product Documents (or https://cdn.na.sage.com/docs/en/customer/300cre/Documentation.htm) Then navigate to Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate > the version you are using > User's Guide.  There is an entire chapter on Security.

The goal is to configure your security so that any one user is not assigned to two or more Roles that give them access to the same object (Task, Setup, Report, Inquiry, etc.) as this could lead to corruption within your Security data.  At one extreme, you could create a Role specific to each User, but it is truly designed to create Roles based on responsibility/tasks/position so that you could use fewer Roles with a large number of Employees.  If you have a small office, the one-to-one option may be easier to manage.  If using multiple Roles, you may want to create a Role specific to common needs (ODBC, Common Tasks/Tools, Reports, Inquiries, etc.).
