outside payroll service (we use ADP) data into Sage 300 CRE payroll...

Does anyone using an outside payroll service (we use ADP) have suggestions for getting the ADP payroll data into Sage 300 CRE's payroll?

  • We use Paychex. We have only 9 employees and only a few get job costed, so I do a simple AP entry each payroll. But, I believe ADP does have a way to import. You should check with your ADP sales rep.

    Thank you!

We have 100+... ADP was on my list to contact...just was looking for input from Sage users first... I'm in charge of IT, not the actual PR...and see the time it takes the payroll person to do her work.

  • Alex,

Depending on what data you are having ADP gather, i.e. just payroll or payroll and job cost you can have ADP generate a .txt or .csv file. You then can import it into Sage. You can use the built in import feature from Sage or look into the Office Connector Import third party application

THANK YOU!  good start... We use a fantastic software to get employee time and a myriad of job information in to the office.  That software creates an import file that Sage does import.  But PR spends an inordinate amount of time correcting the numbers each week, within Sage... the "real" PR data comes from ADP...it would be a HUGE time saver having that data go directly from ADP to Sage.  I'm sure easier said than done!  I welcome any others with comments or better yet, real life experience, with "ADP TO SAGE" imports, to give me a shout out!

    Thanks again!!  Alex

  • We go the other way.  We import the time input from the field using HH2 into Sage, and run a file that we export from Sage into our third party payroll provider, NCR.  This file contains employee #'s, pay codes, $'s and hours - no job information.  NCR runs the payroll (does all taxes, direct deposits, garnishments, benefits and contains all the HRIS information as well). Then we compare the NCR payroll to Sage payroll, make any adjustments necessary to the Sage payroll and post.

  • Hi, I'm a Sage 300 CRE consultant and I work with a few Sage 300 CRE users that use IDI to interface between ADP and Sage 300 CRE to create the import file in Job Cost.  Kit Dickinson is my contact [email protected]

  • I used an Excel integrating tool from ResNav Solutions about 10 years ago. It was fairly inexpensive and pushed data from Sage into ADP. Employees were entering timecards in hh2 - import into Sage. If you use ADP for timekeeping, then you can push (import) the time data into Sage using a preset view and reprocess the payroll in Sage including cleaning discrepancies on every paycheck. I noticed that ADP and Sage have different rounding parameters but everything should be close enough.

Seems like your problem is in the payroll settings under the employee master record (taxes, ded, pay, etc.). I had the same issue but mirrored the settings from ADP in Sage and was off  a .01 on a few employees due to rounding. A quick verification report in Excel to compare the two and manually correct a couple that are off. I did a mid year conversion to ADP and it was a nightmare and needed to run the 2 simultaniously.Your W2s and paychecks come from ADP. So if project labor burden is off .10 a pay period - it is immaterial to adjust every pay cycle. Your accountants can do a monthly or annual ADP to Sage adjusting entry. No need to double your efforts.

Alex, we are in the process of the VERY SAME investigation.  I am currnetly communicating with an ADP rep about setting up the import of the PR data directly into our Sage accounting program.  I'm reading all these comments, with great interest...and with genuine appreciation.  :)

as am I!!!... thank you for reaching out Kristin!!! Let's keep in touch as we go through this!

  • Reach out to: Cc: Adam Rhodes <[email protected]  He developed a program for us to export PR file from Sage PR to ADP.  We enter PR in Sage which preserves JC entries then file exports to ADP for processing.  Hope this helps.

    Does HH2 have a punch in/out feature?

Yes it does and works great! We use it for 1 payroll group. They will help you get it set up.

    thank you!!!

  • Alex, were you able to find a way to get ADP to import payroll into Sage 300 CRE?  We are setting up ADP payroll now.  We need the field time job costed for import into Sage 300.  We seem to have hit a road block on how jobs are set up in ADP before import.   Any suggestions on how you resolved this would be great.  Thanks!

  • My company has a system for integrating external payroll services with Sage 100 Contractor, We are Sage Development Partners and currently looking at migrating our product to Sage 300 CRE. We are looking for beta customers that can input usage and requirements.
