Employee Absenteeism

SOLVED

Is there any way to track absenteeism in Sage 100?  There is a box on the payroll record but I can not find a report that would summarize this information.  Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

    Jen-

KB496 has the instructions for a report. You can log into our customer portal and then select knowledgebase and search for that kb article.

    Brandi,

I looked for KB496 and got "no matches found."  I have an awful time with the kb when ever I go to look for solutions.  I can use every key work I can think of and I never get any results with the 100 Contractor.  Any tips on getting information out of the knowledge base?

Use the advanced Search button and here are some other things that will when searching the knowledgebase:

    Supported Browsers

Internet Explorer is the only supported browser. Due to some of the development work that was performed to make the portal function, Firefox/Chrome/Safari may not work. This is no different than the previous portal, it just happened to work in an “unsupported” browser. If things aren’t working in an alternative browser, use Internet Explorer. Sage Desktop is also not supported.

    Browser Settings

Use the following browser settings in Internet Explorer:

    • Turn off popup blockers

    • Use Compatibility View

    • Display all content, not just content delivered securely. Symptoms of this issue include a “blank” section under the tabs or a “Navigation to the webpage was cancelled” message.

o IE 7: When prompted “This contains both secure and nonsecure items. Do you want to display the nonsecure items?” click [Yes].

o IE 8: When prompted “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?” click [No].

o IE 9: When prompted “Only secure content is displayed.” click [Show all content].

o To permanently allow the portal to display mixed content, follow the steps below:

     Open Internet Options.

     Select the Security tab.

     Click Trusted sites.

     Click [Sites].

     Add *.sagenorthamerica.com.

 Clear the check box for Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone (if selected).

     Click [Close].

     Click [Custom level…]

     Locate Display mixed content.

     Click Enable.

     Click [OK].

     Click [OK].

After changing any of these browser settings, be sure to close all browser windows (not just the Customer Portal) and log in again.

Thanks for the tip about using IE.  I use Chrome and Firefox as my default browsers.  Using notes is not what I had in mind.  What is the absence field for on the payroll record ?

    Thanks.

    SUGGESTED

    From Help:

The Absence column on the Timecard tab of 5-2-2 Payroll Records can be used to record user-defined descriptions of employee absences when entering information on employee timecards. This column is optional.

The Absences cell is for informational purposes only and does not affect the employee’s pay. The Pay Type cell on the Timecard tab of 5-2-2 Payroll Records controls the designation of the type of pay for that employee and is required.

    Translation:

It is an extra field that you can use for whatever purpose you need. It can be reported on by adding the Absence field from the TImecard Lines table

Too bad it has to be a "paid" absense.  If you're not paying them for the time off, you can't use it.

Pay types 1-7 require "hours", and 8&90 require dollars.  Don't know why you'd only want to track paid time off, and not ALL absenses.
