New Service Pack 4 for customers using payroll in New Mexico and customers using BWGAccess to import in Sales Orders

If you have employees in the State of New Mexico and are using Sage BusinessWorks 2021 there is a new version of 2021 SP4 available that includes the payroll tax table update for New Mexico. 

The new download of SP4 also includes an important fix for customers importing from third party developers that are using BWGAccess to import Sales Orders.

Please download and install the current version of SP4 (build 40) from

To download the service pack:

  1. Visit
  2. Click Sign in in the top right-hand corner.
  3. Enter your Username and Password (If you are not already registered select Sign Up for a Portal Account).
  4. Select My downloads on the top right-hand side of your screen.
  5. Select Sage BusinessWorks.
  6. Under Latest update select the desired service pack.
  7. Click Download now to download the file.
    • If you have issues downloading the software try the direct download link below the Download now option.
  8. If prompted, choose to Run or Save the file (this is normally at the bottom of the screen). If you select to save the file, save the file to your Desktop or your desired location. NOTE: If a location is not selected the download usually defaults to C:\User\[UserID]\Downloads.

To install the service pack:

  1. Ensure all users are logged out of Sage BusinessWorks
  2. Double click on the file downloaded from
    • The default location it downloads to is C:\Users\[UserID]\Downloads
  3. On the Welcome screen for the Product Update select Next > to continue.
  4. Accept the End User License and Support Agreement and click Next >
  5. Verify Entitlement information and click Next >
    • If the next button does not appear ensure that the System Manager registration has been entered into the program under Utilities, Registration Information, Module Registration.
  6. Review install settings and click Next >
  7. The installation will now begin. When the installation is complete click Finish
  8. Login to Sage BusinessWorks and select Help, About and verify the service pack installed successfully
  • Thanks, Kim!  Just wanted to make sure, because it felt like I was installing the same service pack 20 times!  (There are a lot of workstations at some of my clients.)

  • Hi, the process is the same as installing at the server.  Download the file and then run the file on the workstation.

  • Just to make sure I'm doing this correctly, how do you install the service packs for 2021 on the workstations?  Is it the same process as if you were on a workstation installing the service pack on the server?  There were no instructions except to do it.  So I installed on the server, downloaded to each workstation and then ran the service pack.  For some reason I feel like I'm missing something.  Thanks!!
