Account reconciliation problems after year end closing and purging

Question

I closed out and purged end of year 2015 - did not lock account reconcilations so some checks that were written in december of 2014 are no longer there and therefore, my account reconcilations have been throw off balance - is there a way to rectify this problem?

Try this. In Account Recon, choose Beginning transactions. If you don't see Beginning Balance Transactions click the button at the bottom left with the double up arrow. This will lift the screen for you to choose Beginning Transactions on the bottom right. Enter the checks as a withdrawal. This should get the Bank Recon in balance without affecting the GL.
