set the timeout in the administrative pages. 

from help file suggests changing the SQLConnectTimeout. File in C:\Program Files (x86)\Sage\IntelligenceRpt2.0, alchemex.ini. my install of 2020 has this value set to 90, for 1.5 minutes. you may try a very large number, i.e. 600 and see if there is a change. It could be related to the location of the data, network connectivity. 

Did not work - something is not right.  Even if I try to run simple lookups (which are used in union report) the simple lookups don't work.  Some do, but not all.  I thought I found the issue when I noticed the ones not working were using Sales Analysis 1-4 and the some of the ones that did work were using Sales Analysis 1-5.  I even took a report that worked within a minute, copied it and renamed it, ran it and it worked.  Then changed only a couple of the columns being pulled and it did not work.

That would be much appreciated.  How do I get you the report?  I exported a very simple report that stopped working.

Also in the last 5 minutes my purchasing manager called and said he cannot go to an inventory item and click reports and do a purchase order report - just a white screen.  This sounds worse but maybe I will get more help as Tech support just keeps telling me it is my custom reports so it is out of their scope.

Hi Bill,  If you have been developing reports, you should have the Connector module.  While in the connector module, select your report and place a check in the Show Advanced box at the bottom left corner of the Properties window.  Once you have done that, the 7th field down from the top says Timeout Enquiries After (Seconds) and will be defaulted to 5 minutes or 300 seconds.  Just raise the number of seconds to the desired level and select Apply.  That will increase the time before your report times out.

They have tried that and no luck.  David Bryant has been trying to help me and he has concluded our database is way to large.  My reports work with the sample company that comes with Sage so he says it must be the data.  It is 1.8M where the max is supposed to be 250-300K. We are currently getting a rebuild done as I have not been able to get the size down on my own.  I will keep everyone posted if this works or not.

So when they did the rebuild it did not bring any history so technically my reports run but there is no data.  I know we need to clean up our database but now wondering the best way to do it.  Accounting does not want to change to a database with no history until the end of our fiscal year so I still need to come up with something until then.  Even then if I strip down my database to clean it up, my reports show comparisons to YTD last year so I would rather find an alternate solution to retain at least 2 years worth of data.
