any one heard or know when Sage 500 end of life is?
As announced at Sage Summit 2014, "Let me clarify this point here and now. Sage will NOT be retiring Sage 500 ERP in 2017. There is no determined or announced retirement date for this product at this time…" If you would like to read more about the announcement and the plans for continued investment in Sage 500 ERP customers you can read the entry here: www.linkedin.com/.../20140807212218-38136978--the-future-of-sage-500-erp-a-win-at-sage-summit-2014-in-las-vegas
I want to thank Linda Cade for running with this and providing this detail feedback in response to the above questions. It was also great to see her post that she provides a link to above.
We have been very candid with our message on this subject as well. With our original post in 2012 www.rklesolutions.com/.../the-future-of-sage-500-erp-formerly-mas-500 while linking to the new statement and our new post in 2014 following Sage Summit in Vegas http://www.rklesolutions.com/blog/sage-500-reinvigorated.
We have also blogged about the Sage 500 ERP 1099 release situation http://www.rklesolutions.com/blog/sage-500-erp-1099-updates/. We have updated older versions for years. We understand why the Publisher such as Sage needs to put a line in the sand and move on but we also understand the reality of businesses to maintain their current versions. It could be that you are trying to get a better return on your investment. It could be that you are not able to make the spend at this time. It could be that you are unable to upgrade because of other 3rd party enhancements that are not compatible with the Sage release. It could be that you use a 3rd party credit card processor and business requirements prevent you from switching to Sage Payment Services.
