HI Shawn,

I'm guessing this is in AP.  You are correct, creating a Credit Memo will increase the balance of what you owe to your Vendor.  Its the Debit Memo that makes it decrease.

In AR, its the opposite, where CM will decrease the balance and DM will increase it.
