Recording bank drafts

We are performing bank reconciliations for our client. The client is recording bank drafts by writing "dummy checks," as they call them. Is there another way to record the bank drafts so that they will still show up as an item to clear in the bank reconciliation? I thought about suggesting the "EFT" option, but I think I read that only checks go to the cash module.

A financial transaction processed against a bank account will be recorded in Cash Management, just as long as the core financial module (AR, AP) in which the transaction is performed is selected for integration. The one exception is General Ledger, where transactions from subsidiary modules roll up, but they don't roll down. There are also other accounting controls that can be put in place, like restricting vendor payments to a specific bank account, etc. There are a number of configuration and set up options that can affect these features as well.

Try to provide some details of the process they follow in creating dummy checks, the financial modules they own and the version. Without additional information, it's difficult to comment on how to use the available functionality.
