There is a feature in Sage you might want to check out... SO Options.

But this only checks items being typed into a sales order. How would it check items that are imported directly into MAS?

You can import your Excel data into a custom table in Sage.  That should be easy enough.  You can clear and re-import into this custom table every time there is a change.  

You could then join to this custom table in your crystal report.

The business framework should still apply in imports.

I have thought of that, but the problem I'm having is there is over 50 records of different type of restrictions. How do  I get it to check a sales order  record for all 50+ excel lines of restrictions?

If your order imports all use the same customer number, that wouldn't work with this feature. 

The other option is control by State / Province, which might work if the imported orders have reliable unique values in that field... but a quick check now shows this feature doesn't filter by country, just State.

A script with a loop to check all the UDT conditions for each line entered... which might slow the import down.

I have a Purchase Control Main on my account that restricts Product Line ZERO (Zero Tolerance) and I can place a order online and see it in MAS. If I place a Zero Tolerance order straight into MAS it wont let me.

how you design your restrictions is the most important part of this exercise.

That is surprising.  How is your import set up?  BOI integration?  VI?  I can't imagine that Sage would implement this feature through the UI only...
