Noob question on reporting options (formerly on FRx)

SUGGESTED

Since the update to Sage 100 2013, staff are asking for FRx migrated reports. How and if that's possible remain a mystery to me.

I've installed and licensed our 1 user Intelligence reporting and referred them to learning the product. Is there anything else left to discuss besides purchasing more licenses for a crew of 3 and offering training options?

There are some options for migrating some canned reports and some of the trees as I recall, but if they are really customized FRx reports then there's a lot of cleanup work that has to be done. They might have to evaluate each report on a case-by-case basis to determine if it's just easier to recreate from scratch in SI, or use the existing SI templates and modify them from there.

They'll need to get signed up on Sage U and start some of the training, or contact your reseller to provide you more one-on-one training if that's better for your people. Our VP Finance is just now starting to convert her reports.

As far as the licensing, yes, if you have more than one person who needs to be designing the reports and running them, then you will need the appropriate number of licenses. One thing I will mention however is that FRx was made to report solely against the GL. SI does all of that AND against the other modules like Inventory, Sales Order, etc. so you might find that once those features are discovered that you will be needing more people with the ability to build SI views.

Keep in mind, once designed, the output is XLSX, so anyone can then take and play with the output (no license required there.)

Hope that helps, my memory is a little blurry after having looked at SI myself so long ago.
