Save Template: Deletes the Template after running report.

Question

Sage v2018 o 2019. 
 Customer (user specific) will run out a Report Designer Financial Report, makes a small change and tries to perform Save Template. The process starts and then Excel asks if she wants to save changes to: reportname1.xlsx. Regardless of how she answers, the template disappears from the Repository. The screen says the Template was linked successfully. 
 If customer opens Template in Design Mode, she can make changes and Save Template successfully. 
 Had customer repair their Office Software, no change. I uninstalled/installed her workstation setup, no change. 
 The other SI User in the office can make changes and save successfully when running reports.. 
 What would cause this and ideas on how to fix?

Hi..Finally back to this today. We tried using another Windows Login and the ran the report and the machine actually froze and rebooted. Tried another Windows Login (someone who is able to run reports on their own machine) and again the machine froze and rebooted. Tried original user's windows login, another Sage user logged into Sage and ran report and Template deleted during Save. Advised IT, it was a machine specific issue and to strip it clean and start over. Thanks for your suggestions, they were helpful and appreciated.

Try to make a copy of the report before making changes. The copied report will be named "Copy of" 
 Run the copied report and make changes and then link the template back to the copied report. 
 See if this works.
