Open the assembly and prefill what doesn't need taking off (depth of slab, depth of beam, width of beam, etc.).  Set the width to 1'.  Then when you take off the area, input it as length.  Then, take off the beam lengths and input them as beam length.  Note, Sage will give tons of steel for the rebar, not the number of feet needed.

Thank you for the detailed answer. I'm not sure I'm following up correctly. I have a spread footing, I have the Area from etakeoff, I put it as length and width is 1? Looking at the results, the volume of concrete is accurate. But for steel, the assembly take it as Lf and then sage converts it to ton. 

Would it be possible to look at the screenshot I attached?

You will need to change the assembly calculations (in the assembly in the Estimating software/database) so it asks for Area as one variable, and then ask for length of rebar (or length of ftg)  for a separate variable. That, or if you have other spread ftg assemblies, try a simpler one.

It is also possible to use IF/THEN statements to create a formula that allows either the area to be entered as a single number in square feet or to enter the length and width to calc the area.
