Is there a way to set up a paygroup for an employee whos regular rate of pay is greater than the prevailing wage rate so it uses the regular rate of pay but still pulls in the paygroup's fringe calculations?

Set up a seperate paygroup for that employee. Instead of the prevailing rates, enter their regular rate in. Include the benefits exactly as you have them in the other paygroup.
Dont need a separate paygroup. Just turn on the “use higher rate” in options 5-2-2. It will still bring in the paygroup benefits and report properly
This is the method our company has used for many years. Works like a charm!
What is option 5-2-2?
Log in as company admin , go to 5-2-2; options menu at the top left
Thank you so much, Char!
Hi Lilah, happy to see that the community helped you figure out a solution!
If you have a minute, tell us about your great experience on Sage City, take this short 3 question survey
What do you do for fringe benefits with this? Do you go ahead and deduct the fringe benefits? I'm in Missouri and our fringe benefits are now included in our pay rate. So, our prevailing wage rate for a current project is $24.61. All employees make more than that, but not sure what to do about the fringes since Sage will go ahead and take them out anyway because of how the paygroup is set up?
We are in Missouri too - when we have a job with prevailing rates lower than the employees' standard rates we do as suggested above and use the higher rate. Their standard rates don't have the fringes attached so they are not deducted. For us the deductions only occur if we use the prevailing pay rate. Hope that makes sense.
That makes sense. So, I think the issue might be our fringes/paygroups may not be set up correctly. Would you be willing to either email or have a phone conversation to explain how yours are set up so I can see where ours are wrong? It would be so helpful to have someone from Missouri to chat with!
Of course! If you want to email me your contact info I would be happy to call you tomorrow. Just include a good time to call. My email address is [email protected]
Thanks!
