MAS 200 4.5 SQL Backup and Restore

SOLVED

Running MAS 200 4.5 PU3 SQL

Hi, I need some help! One of my hard drive died in the RAID10 array (degraded for now), so I’m testing my backup now while getting the new hardware. I need some info on this error after I have done a MAS backup and restore to a different server.

The error is: Unable to create a Session Object. The workstation may have been corrupted. Re-install Workstation Setup.

My procedure with the backup & restore was:

-          Backup all SQL databases in full (MAS_SYSTEM.bak etc...), and backup the entire Sage folder under C:\

-          On new server (in sequence below)

  1. Install Windows – same computer name except the production server is in a domain, the test server is in a Workgroup.
  2. Different IP address
  3. Install SQL
  4. Install MAS 4.5 (no product updates installed, no addons or 3rd party modules installed – i.e. multi-bin, starship link, Kissinger EDI)
  5. Restore SQL databases (MAS_SYSTEM
  6. Copy the old Sage folder back up to overwrite the new folder installed under C:\
  7. Made sure Sage could authenticate with the SQL server
  8. Install client – made sure client has full access to the shared Sage folder
  9. Launch client, and the error pops up.

Maybe I missed a step, or did something in between. Can anybody shed some light? Thanks!

Thanks for your help!
